Of all of my daily housework tasks, I enjoy cleaning the kitchen the most. It's not my favorite thing to do but washing pots and pans, scrubbing the counter, soaking dishes and sweeping is made much more enjoyable when surrounded by pretty things and good music.

| I always use lemon dish soap. When I was 4, I had a little play kitchen that I would use to wash my dishes after a tea party. Mom would always let me put a little soapy water in the sink and it was usually lemon scented. |

ReplyDeleteYour kitchen is so charmingly lovely and filled with delightful yesteryear treasures, I can completely see why you enjoy spending time tidying up in there. I've always found washing dishes by hand to be oddly relaxing - perhaps even cathartic at times - and could only imagine that feeling being intensified if I had a kitchen as filled with terrific vintage pieces as you do.

ReplyDeleteI'd enjoy cleaning if I was pushing around more pretty things like these! We do collect vintage tumblers though, and I love washing them by hand and seeing the sunshine through all the pretty colors!
ReplyDeleteWhenever I'm feeling down or stressed out, I go slip on a pretty, simple cotton dress, sweep my hair up into an updo, brush my teeth, put on an adorable apron, set my spotify playlist to big band, and dance around cleaning the kitchen. It's a pick-me-up like no other and really makes my day. :)
