Yesterday, I spent a little time pouring over a big stack of vintage magazines from my stash. I find so many great ideas for outfits, crafts, recipes and home decor. Here's a look inside McCalls Needlework from winter 1942-43. There's some really killer knitting and crochet patterns in these. I need to scan and share them before these old pages crumble!

OH MY GOODNESS! I'm dying here on how amazing this magazine is. That first image with all the hats, those wonderful hats. Swoon. I want the "small chic beret" in my life. And those Rio Grande Outfits..amazing. What a find, love it.

These are so great! :D
ReplyDeleteAMAZING!!! I need to go flea marketing and find some old magazines like this. I need something to go through, too. These are just too awesome.
ReplyDeleteOh, those hats on the first picture are positively delightful! Thank you for sharing! If you want, I have a monthly Magazine Link-up on my blog right now, and you can feel free to link up this post over there so even more people will be able to enjoy these delightful tokens of an era gone by: http://boyerfamilysingersblog.com/2015/03/magazine-monday-needlework-march-1918/

Thanks for sharing these great images. I can't properly express how much I love that first page of hats! I have a gorgeous wool tweed that I have been waiting to work out what to do with, and I think the "small chic beret" is it!
ReplyDeleteBe still my vintage hat loving heart, these are fantastic! I love them all, but find myself especially taken by the "pigtail cap". It's so charming and unique!

Hello there!
ReplyDelete....you know what would be amazing? If someone did a "how to" on the heart-shaped pillow-box hat. :)
Marija
I will do my best to make that happen!!
