This green polka dot cutie is my first 1940s dress! It was kind of a splurge for me but when I put it on it fit so perfectly and I felt so pretty, I had to buy it.
Cherokee St. in St Louis is famous for the vast row of antique shops. Among them is "Retro 101 and Cherry Bomb Vintage" a darling little shop loaded with all things vintage.
They have many retro light fixtures, pieces of furniture and other home decor items but more than anything, it's about the clothes. Wall to wall, ceiling to floor, the shop is packed with glorious vintage hats! Every color, shape, size and material that you can imagine.
They have a fabulous selection of vintage shoes in the back of the shop, along with purses and vintage bras, corsets and various unmentionables.
The racks are well organized, many of them are according to color, which is great if you have something particular in mind. They have a variety of lovely special occasion dresses as well as 50's house dresses, blouses and even vintage pants. If there isn't enough to look at, there's also a basement full of great finds!

ReplyDeleteMany greetings from a fellow curvy girl who loves vintage but sadly, doesn't dare to dress the way I want to. Perhaps by reading all your blog posts, I will muster up the courage like you have :)
