ReplyDeleteOoh la la - awesome giveaway! Not very original, but my favorite femme fatale is Lauren Bacall. Thanks for hosting this! :)
ReplyDeleteI've really enjoyed the Femme Fatale themed posts this week!
ReplyDeleteI would say Josephine Baker is probably one of my favorites at the moment.
This week anytime you mentioned Barbara Stanwyck, I died. She is absolutely my favorite femme fatale! Double Indemnity is so witty and sexy and provacative, I love it!
ReplyDeleteLaura is also an excellent noir flick.
I know what I'm watching tonight!
Lindsay T.

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely giveaway! My favorite Femme Fatale would have to be Barbara Stanwyck. :)

ReplyDeleteOh goodness, fav femme fatale...I'm going to go with a modern one because I think she's bringing retro glamour back in a big way and she's got the curves to back it up. Scarlette Johanson.
ReplyDeleteHmm, I am going to have to say Lauren Bacall (mainly for her role in "To Have or To Have Not").
ReplyDelete:)
Rightio, my favourite femme fatale at the moment is Christina Hendricks, she's from Mad Men and she is fabulous. She's curvy, sexy and a vintage red haired bombshell! She is what girls should aspire to be nowadays not skinny models like Kate Moss!
ReplyDeleteand please see my blog for your link and a little blog post for you =] http://lorettajanevintage.blogspot.com
I'm a follower! I liked your real femme fetales post... like Mata Hari! She sounds rad! the hat you're giving away is so beautiful!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite femme fetale is Morticia Addams. She's such a charming, little thing with her long hair and longer lashes. She flaunts and fancies Mr. Addams with every chance she gets in her life. She's been my 'look' and 'personality' icon for quite sometime.
ReplyDeleteI linked you to my little blog too;

Oh, there are so many fabulous femme fatales to choose from. I've always been a fan of Cleopatra but my favorite vintage femme fatale has to be Lauren Bacall.
ReplyDeleteI posted about your giveaway on my blog and it'll be up on my facebook soon too!
http://star-spangledheart.blogspot.com/2010/09/attention-giveaway.html
I think Dita von teese is a bit of a femme fatale but I really love Angelina Jolie! I'm sorry my choices are a bit modern I really can't say I've seen any of these films so I think to redeem myself I shall have a film night with friends and only screen Film noir!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite femme fatale has always been Mata Hari, even when I was a child. When I first heard of her I thought there was so much mistery around her! And all those images of her as an exotic dancer! Just love it.

What a fun giveaway!! Cleopatra is by far my favorite!! I have always loved her and the whole history of how she seduced EVERYONE even though she was not a pretty woman! hehehe!
ReplyDeleteCount me in! My fav Femme Fatale is the character Brigid O'Shaughnessy from The Maltese Falcon, played by Mary Astor!

ReplyDeleteMy fave femme fatale has got to be Lauren Bacall; she's so dazzlingly gorgeous and such a strong actress. I have serious Bacall Hair Envy too.
Evita Peron and Marilyn Monroe! because of their commanding personalities and their vavavoom style!:)

I follow your blog in my google reader.
ReplyDeleteI love Rita Hayworth. Sexy, sultry and a good gal!
This isn't exactly the whole femme fatale thing but I really think Anne Boleyn was like one of the og femme fatales. Although it backfired for her.
ReplyDeleteI am now a follower of you fab blog and my favorite femme fatal is Louise Brooks!
ReplyDeleteMy fave femme fatales are the girls from the movie Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill! So outrageously dangerous. :-D
ReplyDeleteFantastic comp too I really hope I win!
Greta Garbo ,I even had the hair when I was 12 but Mortica Adams is a close second...
ReplyDeleteOh - that's a tough one - I like Lana Turner in THE POSTMAN ALLWAYS RING TWICE.. and Marilyn Monroe in NIAGARA.. :") and, and, and..

P.S. You are a lovely model! That feathers and veil are a great idea!
Good luck, to all vintage lovers out there!
I have just been blogging about my femme fatale of the moment, Gene Tierney in Heaven Can Have Her ( 20th Century, 1944). She is strikingly beautiful, and becomes dangerously fixated with Cornel Wilde.
ReplyDelete** Spolier** She ditches the man she is already engaged to to marry Wilde; she murders his brother because she gets jealous of the time Wilde is spending with him; she throws herself down the stairs to kill their unborn child, then she kills herself and makes it look like her sister did it because she realises they are getting close!****
It's not until half way through the film that you truly realise she really is that bad. She just looks too heavenly to even think such things. Will update my blog now with a link to this comp now
http://bakingmakingcreating.blogspot.com/
xx
For me it has to be Milady de Winter from the Three Musketeers. Dumas' femme fatale has been portrayed by both Lana Turner and Faye Dunaway- both Femme Fatales themselves. Triple whammy or what?
ReplyDeleteI love the hat, it really is stunning. I'd love to wear it to the upcoming Melbourne Cup. It would certainly make up for my laddered fully fashioned stocking today.. sniff sniff!

ReplyDeleteHave to say that Rita Hayworth has ALWAYS been my favorite fatale.
loves loves loves
Don't include me in the giveaway because I would just give it back to YOU, but I had to pipe in anyway, Lili Von Shtupp from Blazing Saddles played by the late great Madelyn Kahn! "A wed wose, how womantic!"
ReplyDeleteSlightly predictable perhaps, but Barbara Stanwyck in Double Indemnity embodies the femme fatale for me. I wrote an essay on them at university actually!
ReplyDeleteI'm following your blog on my feed reader, by the way!

Lovely giveaway! I've always thought that Lauren Bacall in Big sleep is the ultimate femme fatale. Compelet with bad habits and that deep voice.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing giveaway! My favourite femme would have to be Lisa Freemont in Rear Window. Beautiful and dangerous!
ReplyDeleteMy Fem Fatal would be Marilyn Monroe, she had curves and new how to use them.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteMy faves are Marilyn Monroe and for modern, Dita. They are both strong yet feminine and have such fantastic style!
"Frankly my dear, I don't give a damn!"
ReplyDeleteVivien Leigh, Gone with the wind....maybe not fully "fatale" but i think she was in her own way as scarlett......

ReplyDeleteI want, especially the hat! Favorite femme fatale is Rita Hayworth in Gilda, followed closely by Lana Turner in The Postman Always Rings Twice, I think. Thanks so much for this!
ReplyDelete-Desiree, Pop-o-matic Deluxe!
Brenda Starr! More from the comics than the movie, and I don't think she ever meant to be a femme fatale, it just happend sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteOh dear. There are just too many to pick from (though most of my favourite film noirs don't have your typical femme fatale in them) but I've just realised that Catwoman may be my favourite! Ever since I was a little girl, long before I knew what a femme fatale was, I've loved Catwoman. Now I love her in almost all of her incarnations but my favourite is Michelle Pfeiffer.
ReplyDelete(Already a follower by the way ;])

There are way too many classic femme fatales to choose from, so I'm going for a modern one in Joan Holloway on Mad Men.

My favorite femme fatale is Cleopatra. That woman knew how to work men over.
ReplyDeleteHands down, Gilda. A little bit damaged and completely aware of her sexual power.
ReplyDeletehello ;*)
ReplyDeletefirst of all-great giveaway!the most beautiful hat and bag!
well, my femme fatale is Alma Mahler-Werfel. She was a wife, successively, of composer Gustav Mahler, architect Walter Gropius, and novelist Franz Werfel, as well as the consort of several other prominent men.
I can point out her intelligence and femininity, of course, shoulder to shoulder with her eccentricity. One thing is for sure- she was a woman of simply magical attraction.
Greetings form croatia ;*))))
I think Lauren Bacall was the best femme fatal ever. Her beauty, and that sultry look was incredible, then add the husky voice, and she's a hard woman to beat.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous giveaway!I already follow so please count me in :)I don't have the other 3 so this will have to do.
ReplyDeleteIt seems i'm not alone in favouring Miss Becall, the eyes the lips, the voice ,the beauty. All a winning combination in my book.I do love Rita & Barbara too though:)
I have to say you look smashing as a femme fatale Brittany:)
I am now a new follower :)
ReplyDeleteAmong my favorite femme fatales is Anna May Wong. Her life on and off screen was really remarkable. She was beautiful, talented, and she bridged a cultural gap for Asian-Americans, and women in general.
I have to say its my favorite mexican actress!!! MARIA FELIX! She had attitude in her movies and also in real life. I have to say she was one of the most beautiful mexican woman...on screen.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite femme fatale is Lauren Bacall...it may be because we share a birthday, but I also just love her brand of sass.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway!
eewingo (at) gmail (dot) com
Posted on my facebook and vintage network :)
ReplyDeleteI love those goods! My favorite femme fatale is Rita Hayworth! Her flamed hair and her beauty make her a perfect one!
ReplyDeleteCount me in. :o) My favorite femme fatal is Cleopatra. It takes style and strength to rule an empire. I'll post this to facebook too.
ReplyDeleteI think of her as sassy rather than fatale-y, but I suppose a starring role in "Double Indemnity" can't lie, so Barbara Stanwyck it is! I love her.
ReplyDeleteOh I nearly missed this! What a wonderful giveaway! I'm already a follower. My favourite femme fatal is probably Betty Page. Not a very original choice I know, but she's a classic. :)
ReplyDeletex Beth

ReplyDeleteYes, I am a loyal follower, and I loved femme fatal is.....Lauren Bacall or Rita Hayworth. But, I have a Femme Fatal haircut, so if I win that hat, purse, gloves and purfume, then I will be transferred into my own favorite Femme Fatal. ha ha ha. Thanks for the chance to win!

Sophia Loren! I adore her... She makes the line in The Godfather "In Sicily, women are more dangerous than shotguns" ring true. I reposted your fabulous giveaway on my blog http://rockabillybombshell.blogspot.com/2010/09/va-voom-vintage-femme-fatale-wiggle.html and on twitter http://twitter.com/BadLuckBetty13.
ReplyDeleteFemme Fatale Nikita is my current favorite. I know she is new to the public but from what I have seen so far she fits the part. She is obviously georgous, always looks her best and when it comes to handling business she doesnt hesistate to firing a round or taking someone's life.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck Ladies..!!..
I will also
Hey there! I am already a follower and love to receive your posts. :-)
ReplyDeleteMy fav fem fatale is the classic Bette Page. She's got style and sass. Not only that she's a brunette.
Smiles,
~Nancy
My favorite, even though she is a parody of a femme fetale, is Jessica Rabbit. Because she's awesome. I posted the giveaway on my blog: http://thosewereverygoodyrs.blogspot.com/2010/09/flea-market-finds.html
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteMy favourite femme fatale is probably Madame de Pompadour - she knew exactly what she wanted (the king) and pounced on him at a masked ball (seriously, how much more mysterious and femme fatale-like can you get?) She was intelligent and intervened in political matters using the King as her puppet. And champagne glasses are *supposedly* modeled on the shape of her breast!
ReplyDeletefollowing ur blog and my fav is Samantha on Sex and the City hehe <3

My favorite femme fatale is Tura Satana, she is sexy and tough.
ReplyDeleteOh my favourite femme fatale is Cruella De Vil! I love her outfits, crazy hair, chain smoking, and scary ways, and always like to imagine she was quite something in her day. (It might seem an odd choice but I'm an animal behaviourist and a bit obsessed with dogs like her, though no dalmatian coats here!)
ReplyDeleteI'm new to your blog and it's a great read, thankyou!
pick me! pick me! pick me! i just adore vivienne leigh as scarlett o'hara!!! as a southern girl, i have to stay true to my roots.
ReplyDeleteI loove your give away! My favorite person from back when was Elizaeth Taylor! http://www.queensofvintage.com/vintage-teenager
ReplyDeleteoh i get to pick a screen goddess and a modern one? i'm in! for the modern femme fatale, i also pick dita who always looks gorgeous no matter the circumstances. i adore grace kelly, screen goddess, for her elusive "it-ness". my grace fave is to catch a thief where she's got gumption, curiosity, manners and an amazing wardrobe.
ReplyDeleteI am eternally obessed with Pandora's Box as a Femme Fatal. The almost she doesn't know she is one thing drives me wild. Louise Brooks is beyond amazing in this role from going to sweet and innocent to deadly
ReplyDeleteOoh... Loving the hat as well as this list of women we're all comming up with. Way cool!
ReplyDeleteJessica Rabbit has been a favorite of mine since before I knew what femme fatale was.
I tend to think of femme fatales as strong women who were cunning, knew how to rock a dress, and could fare pretty well in a fight (defense, of course). Classy and sassy.
That being said, I'd also add:
* Marguerite Krux (from the tv show, The Lost World... I wanted to be her when I was a teen)
* H G (Helena) Wells from Warehouse 13 (check her out... ahead of her time in any century, charming, and would have made one awesome female hero if she wasn't h***-bent on destroying the world)
* Emma Peel of The Avengers (BBC show, not the comics/animated show). Emma Peel was only dangerous to evil-doers...and people who thought women shouldn't wear tight clothes and kick butt. She doesn't take no for an answer and just TRY telling her she can't do something! She'll have proved you wrong before you can finish your tea.

Lauren Bacall! She is my fave. And I am a follower!!
ReplyDeleteI always loved Elizabeth Taylor and her femme fatale persona was not only public (stealing hubby's) but on screen such as Maggie from "Cat on A Hot Tin Roof"!
ReplyDelete
