Rhys and I after our shopping adventures at Brenda Sue's
Yesterday was birthday! I'm 26 and I spent the day with my wonderful family. Pj used one of his vacation days so he could hang out with me all day. He picked up yummy bagel sandwiches for breakfast and took me shopping to one of my very favorite vintage shops- Brenda Sue's in Warrenton, MO. I bought 3 dresses, 3 hats and a few brooches. I finally found my elusive 1940's "little black dress" which I have been hunting down for over a year and a half! You can read about Brenda Sue's on my Vintage Tour of Missouri post. I can't wait to go back, after the Halloween season is over.

After shopping, we met my momma for lunch. I met mom and daughter team of fashionistas in the parking lot. We saw each other, squealed with delight and ran over to talk about our accessories. I love living in the midwest, where perfect strangers talk to each other like we're best friends. It made my day! Pj made the most delicious french onion soup for dinner. Today is Olivia's birthday party (her birthday is on the 2nd) so we finished some last minute party things also.
This is Olivia this morning with her birthday presents from mommy and daddy....

I bought this dress at a thrift store in Springfield, MO last weekend. It's very plain and simple but I couldn't pass up a basic cotton dress. This is proof again that the magic is in the accessories!
