Pj has started his annual two week vacation today and since he's home, my schedule is off and I had no idea that today was Friday until now! Oops, time for my Friday Fashionista. This week's stylish lady is Carmen Miranda, the singer, dancer and actress with the best shoe collection in the land!

Oooh! I'm so glad you did Carmen, I absolutely adore her! And I'm also SUPER pleased that you used a picture from the "Lady in the tuti-fruity-hat" number from The Gang's All Here. I love the fashionista posts, keep 'em coming!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, I am most certainly going to check out that documentary! I'm smitten with Carmen too, she's one of my absolute favorites. I love how even when dressed in "normal" street clothes, she had such panache and vibrancy; I so admire that gorgeous forward roll she often sported!
ReplyDeleteLove this woman...she was outrageous, unabashed and just plain fun. A true bombshell with a rockin body and wit.
ReplyDeleteThis week has been an absolute whirlwind for us, too, and my schedule feels completely off as well (on Tuesday it felt like Friday, now it's Friday night and I really haven't a clue what day of the week it feels like...maybe Wednesday?).
ReplyDeleteLove this delightfully fun post - Carmen is the perfect vintage celeb to highlight as we tumbled ever further into the sweltering, sultry, energetic season that is summer.
Oodles of hugs & joyful weekend wishes,
♥ Jessica
I would have to say Carmen Miranda is one of my favorite starlets. She reminds me of my Great Grandmother from Spain, I have her photo at the top of my blog. She actually would compete in those dance contests that lasted for days!
ReplyDeleteI love every film that she was in! Oh she was a fun lady to watch and I LOVE her style!
