Well, it's been a crazy week but the dust is starting to settle and I think I"m ready to blog again....
Since there will be a lot of changes going on in my life, I thought it would be only right to tell you guys what's going on.
Long story short is, my husband got us into some major financial trouble and since I've been kept out of the loop, I had no idea until it all came crashing down last week. We're going to move and I"m getting a job. I'm actually a little excited about having a chance to start over fresh with everything. I"ll be in a wierd limbo for a few months, living with my fabulous sister in law until my sister's lease is up. In November, I'll be setting up a nest with my sister and brother in law in my momma's neighborhood, which will be fabulous because we'll have a baby sitter so close, we'll finally have a yard so I can have my victory garden and room for the kids to run around. And best of all, my sister and I can help each other out!
We're downsizing a lot but I'm keeping everything that I really love and that makes me happy. I started this blog and vintage thing so I will have something for myself aside from work and kids and I can't give that up!!
I'll be spending any spare time I have blogging (of course) and working on starting an online vintage clothing business. I'm hoping that the vintage business will take off eventually and I'll be able to stay home with my babies again someday so cross your fingers for me! I love to hunt for vintage and share it with others and if I can make that my job, that would be amazing.
Thank you for all of your support. I still have some loose ends to tie up so I might be scarce around here for another week or so but I'll pop in when I can. Wish me luck!!

You will pull through this though :) My husband and I just moved in with my parents, and I actually like beign so close to family again. I hope you enjoy building deeper connections with your family. I'm sure the kiddos will love the extra attention from Aunts and Uncles :)

ReplyDeleteSorry to hear about your misfortune. Best of luck on this new chapter in your life. It is good that you will be living so close to family. I was a working mom with no family nearby, and it was extrememly difficult, having family close at hand is so much better.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to hear about your new adventures.
Oh my goodness! I'm so sorry to hear about your bad news. I wish you strength and courage as you embark on this next chapter and I hope light comes out of darkness for you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHi lovely, financial worries are so stressful and most of us have them at some point or other. Sounds like you have taken matters in hand which is so much better than doing nothing except freak out. Good luck with following your new path, where ever that may lead you.

I'm so sorry to hear about all of this. :( I hope your move goes smoothly and best of luck finding a job. Glad to hear that your family is going to be there to help you out. I'll be waiting patiently for your return to regular blogging.
ReplyDeleteI have so much respect for the way you're handling this. I wish you all the best.
ReplyDeleteI am new reader and fan. I love your style and will be among the first in line at your new shop. I used to live in Missouri and still have family there so I love to follow your shopping trips and see those pixs. Good luck and we'll be rooting for you. Sounds like it's gonna work out for the best for you. You'll can vegetables even more now!!!
ReplyDeleteStarting over is rough. Especially financially. My credit is pretty bad now and I am making way less than I was. It can be stressful but keep doing what you love--blogging, antiqueing (even if it is just to window shop). It will keep you sane.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!!
Dear Va VA Voom...starting over can be tough but you, my dear will conquer it. Sending you lots of strong energy your way to jumpstart your vintage business. You will do amazing, your heart is joyful.
ReplyDeleteDearest Brittany, I am so proud of the strength and fortitude you're showing in the face of this massively unexpected life change. I've had my world turned completely on its head before too and know the onslaught or thoughts, emotions and worries that can accompany such events. I hope with all my heart and soul that the future will become brighter again for you soon, and want to you that I'm here to help you in any possible way I can if you need it.
ReplyDeleteWith love & understanding,
♥ Jessica

Best of luck with whatever you do, I know your vintage store will be fabulous, and good luck meantime finding work. We'll be here whether you blog regularly or not xxx
ReplyDeleteDear Britanny, I am so sorry to here of your troubles and wish that your circumstances were other than what they are. I'm glad you have the support and stregnth of your family close by you and you don't have to weather this storm alone. I will be very happy to patronise your online store when you get it up and running, in the mean time...my advise is to pace yourself and try not to worry too much. xx Shauna
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about you troubles and admire you for finding the positive in the changes - I hope everything goes well and that your business becomes a success.
ReplyDeleteI am very sorry to hear about this, but happy that you're seeing the positives in the situation. :) Change can be difficult, but you'll come out on the other side stronger. And being closer to the family is always good! :)
ReplyDeleteBest of luck with everything, we are all cheering for you guys!
What a horrible shock that must have been... I think it is wonderful you are keeping strong and your chin up. Best wishes.
ReplyDeleteThinking of you and your family during this time of change. Please definitely keep me posted when your clothing line is available for purchase!
ReplyDeleteBrittany you have been such an inspiration to me reading your blogs...for me not only do I enjoy them from a vintage lifestyle point of view but this journey for me is about re-claiming myself - I was a cliche case of woman who lived her life as wife and mother - both fantastic jobs and I wouldn't change that for anything BUT when you loose yourself in the process - well!! You are very wise for your years and your positivity and brilliant attitude to life is so admirable. Life is about the ups and the downs - we can't control what happens always but we can control how we react - you go girl!!! Best of luck for the plans and so pleased to see you back with that goreous smile - rock on xxx
ReplyDeleteI’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you guys are experiencing. With your positive attitude though, it looks like with the lemons you’ve been thrown you’re going to make an awesome glass of lemonade! Best wishes for you and your family!
ReplyDeleteOh, how awful! I'm so sorry to hear how everything's just crashed around your ears. I'm impressed by how strong you are--you'll get through things beautifully. I do hope you start a custom clothing line, that would be amazing! All the best, and I'm keeping you and your family in my thoughts. I agree with Inky up there--you're going to have an incredible glass of lemonade by the end of this!
ReplyDeleteOh dear! I read between the lines that you are leaving your husband. I do hope I'm wrong, since you always looked like such a happy couple and a lovely family. If you open a vintage shop, do make an e-shop too and I'll be your customer forever. Lots of love from Denmark
ReplyDeletehaha, oh no! I'm ready to kill him but we're staying together, working as a team! I'll be opening the shop in a few weeks or less- just as soon as I can get all of this stuff listed!! Thanks so much, sweetie!! x
DeleteOh, great to hear. I thought a lot about you yesterday. Staying together and fighting together - you can only win! :)
DeleteHave a lovely weekend, dear. :)
Hugs to you and yours. I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers. I just see you getting successful with your shop and everything getting back to normal!
ReplyDeleteSounds like despite it all ther are things to be thankful for as you're not alone. I've had a few things thrown my way recently and it's hard carrying on, I stopped selling the crafts I make as Ihave too much going on, but I know one day things will settle. I just did my first blog in about a month with some positive quotes to keep going- www.cheshirecatcrafts.blogspot.com
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
hey hon, I totally feel for you. I have just posted a similar post on blog, times are a changing. But good luck to you and your family.
ReplyDeleteAs long as you have each other and those beautiful babies, everything will turn out alright.
ReplyDeleteWe went thru a really bad patch a few years back, too. It's rough and requires some determination, but in the end, you become stronger and even closer. These days, LOTS of folks find themselves in trouble, don't ever let anyone look down at you, and keep your beautiful smile.
