When I was a teenager, I had blue hair for several years. Its the one thing that I never changed my mind about loving. I tried it again this week and although it's a really pretty color and I love a Marge Simpson blue beehive, I think I'm going to go back to a normal color immediately. It worked for my 16 year old self but I'm feeling like it's -so- not me! It's fun to play at any rate so here it is!

it looks great on you! i would leave it for a few days to get used to it before making up your mind to change it back.
ReplyDeleteI think its really cute, I keep wanting to go pink.
ReplyDeleteWell. . . I think it's WAY more important that *you* love your hair than it is that *I* love your hair, but:
ReplyDeleteI think you look absolutely gorgeous with blue hair. Absolutely. Gorgeous.
Bright hair colors are so challenging, it's really hard to make sure they coordinate with your skin and eye tones in the way you like. And this blue (in the photos at least), is absolutely a lovely complement to your skin and eyes.
Thanks for sharing the photos!
This color looks so beautiful on you! It's your hair, of course, so you get to decide what to do with it, but this is just so striking. Whatever you do, just make sure you use plenty of conditioner! ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's great to play around and just do (or wear) something completely fun and carefree sometimes, and I really think blue hair falls under that heading. I love this hue on you - it compliments your lovely skin tone wonderfully - but do understand that it might not be your first choice anymore for extended wear. It's crazy cute in the moment for sure though!!!

I think it's cute too! But I totally understand wanting to go back to a natural color.
ReplyDeleteNot too long ago I had purple hair and I loved it, but I kept getting flak from family members (not that it should matter, but it did too), so I changed it back.
I think it looks fun, but then, you look absolutely lovely in any hair color so have fun with it!
ReplyDeleteHey! YOu look absolutely gorgeous in that colour!
ReplyDeleteI dyed my hair every color under the sun until a few years ago. Then recently I put some purple and pink streaks in and it just didn't feel the same, so I totally understand your feeling. Plus I think "weird" colored hair is slightly more common now than it was 10 years ago so it doesn't really made me feel like a bad a## anymore :D
ReplyDeleteEnjoy it while you have it- it makes you look younger and it's fun for a while!
ReplyDeleteso cute! so cute! so cute!
ReplyDeleteI know you said you don't love it so much anymore, but personally, I think it looks stunning on you! I don't think I could ever pull it off!
ReplyDeleteThis may sound strange, but it makes you look incredibly young! Maybe it's the variability in the photos, with you not sure about it yet, but jeesh, you look youthful. (Not that you look old normally though!)
ReplyDeleteI ment vulnerability , not variability. LOL
DeleteMy hair is part blue and purple, and I've been so tempted to do the whole lot blue, but after seeing what the bleach has done to the bits that are blue now I darn't risk a whole head. I do love brightly coloured hair though and think you definately get away with this.
ReplyDeleteI would not normally say dying ones hair green is a good move...but you do look enchanting, almost mermaidy with your hair that colour-but if your feel it's not right switch back. We women have enough hair woes to worry about than a colour we don't love. xx Shauna
ReplyDeleteI think it looks beautiful! It's a lovely subtle colour, and I agree with Jessica above- you look so young! When I started reading the post I just saw the first image and the first sentence "When I was a teenager, I had blue hair"- I honestly thought I was looking at a picture of you as a teenager! I say keep it for a week, then if you still don't feel comfortable then fair enough, dye it back. At least you tried it!
ReplyDeleteMe, I'll be keeping my bright pink hair as long as I can get away with it :)
x
How fun! It is super cute - and I like the way you styled it. I just let my almost-16-year-old daughter dye her hair bright crayon box red. While grandma was not so happy, I thought - when else will she be able to do it? I think she looks adorable.
ReplyDeletelook very nice, you remind me of trills by peter pan
ReplyDeleteCute! I love playing with hair color!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! I remember dying my hair a wine purple hue in junior high and having to repeat the process in high school as nobody believed that I'd done it! I do understand what you mean about it being not you now... I don't think I will be dyeing my hair any time soon either! But when I go grey, I promise that I will be the little old lady rocking unnaturally colored hair!
ReplyDeleteI like your hair a lot!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fab!
ReplyDeleteI dyed my hair blue for my 30th birthday, it was such fun.
You do look cute with it. But I know what you mean about so not you. Sometimes it's hard to repeat something from our childhood/teen years.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great! You've inspired me to give a bright color a try.
ReplyDeleteWOW, it actually makes you LOOK 16 years old again! I would keep it for at least a fortnight ;)
