Last weekend, we went to my grandma's house for a family barbeque. It was very hot and humid outside so my hair went all crazy and makeup melted right off. I wore my new favorite jeans, thrifted a few days prior. These are the Amanda jean from Gloria Vanderbilt. They're high waist jeans and very long so I can cuff them all cute like Freddie's jeans. I'm pretty tall so a jean with a wide cuff is a rare find for me but apparently you can order these in short or long. I love them so much, I think I will have to find a few more pairs. Also, I know that there's a big fashion rule about wearing horizontal, stripes if you're plus sized but I like horizontal stripes, darnit! I like them so much that I bought this same top again in pink so there! haha!

This is adorable! I'm always on the hunt for affordable high-waisted jeans. Freddie's is just a little beyond my reach, but I love the look! I might have to try these out.
ReplyDeleteLovely! I've had to stop wearing (and sell on eBay) my Freddies jeans after 2 c sections and stubborn weight, I am thankful to you for sharing the make and model of these jeans! :)
ReplyDeleteI just adore that you paired leopard with stripes! :D
ReplyDeleteVery cute! I love a good higher wasited pant.
ReplyDeleteRules schmules. I had a similar, "this is such a fashion no-no" thought last week as I gleefully bought two more striped tops. You look fabulous! :)
ReplyDeleteI thrifted a pair of Amanda capris awhile back and they are my favorite. That high waist holds it all together and is so flattering. I'd love to find them in pants form. Thank you for sharing!

Such a pretty outfit.. and I think the stripe top looks great...
ReplyDeleteDark denim is the best!!! I haven't owned any other kind in more years than I can remember now - even my vintage high waisted denim pencil skirt is indigo. :)

I think you look great, stripes and all. You've got a waist and the stripes make the most of that. (I'm a plus-size apple and feel the effect wouldn't work on me!)
ReplyDeleteYou look great. Those fashion rules are silly, I mean who decided no white after labor day, unless your getting married. Silly. I love the look.
ReplyDeleteI love those Amandas! I buy my at Kohls (on sale ) or even cheaper at Costco!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute outfit! I love the stripes! Also, Gloria Vanderbilt jeans are tremendous. I don't own a pair right now, but you're making me kinda wanna go out and try a few pairs on. :P
ReplyDeleteCheers!

You look great! I have that top in two colors also and wear them with my high waisties. BTW Amerimark has high waist panties with a little leg. They are made of cotton jersey (like a tee shirt). It's a good source for vintage inspired underwear. Just ignore the frump.
ReplyDeleteThe shirt looks great on you. I can imagine where some wide stripes like the old polo shirts might be tricky with a large bust, but the one you're wearing is quite flattering. Amerimark-my weakness! And of course, Vermont Country Store. I have such a weakness for old lady stuff, it isn't even funny.
ReplyDeleteI'll keep my eye out for the Vanderbilts-I always liked her jeans back in the 70's.
I currently don't own any jeans - in fact I only started to wear trousers last year! I am thinking of buying some jeans for the winter and will look out for these. I love searching charity shops for bargains.
ReplyDeleteThose stripes look awesome on you! Who cares about the rule? ;)
ReplyDeleteRules are meant to be broken, dear, and you do it beautifully. :)
